Reading captain Jobi McAnuff has insisted that the club has what it takes to make an instant return to the Premier League.
The Royals were relegated from the top flight last month one year after winning the Championship.
However, McAnuff believes that the team can bounce back under the guidance of new manager Nigel Adkins.
"We've got players that know how to get out of the league and that the Championship is as much about the mental side as the physical," he told Sky Sports News.
"We know what the demands are going to be and feel we will have a fighting chance next year, especially with the time we have had under the new gaffer."
Reading conclude their campaign on Sunday when they travel to West Ham United.
