Former Roma boss Luis Enrique becomes the latest unlikely name to be linked with the vacant manager's job at Reading.

Former Spain and Barcelona midfielder Luis Enrique has become the latest name to be linked with the vacant manager's post at Reading.

Enrique has been out of work since being sacked as Roma boss last summer, but did have success in charge of Barca's B team under Pep Guardiola.

Reading owner Anton Zingarevich has added Enrique to a shortlist of candidates after being rejected by first choice Roberto Di Matteo, according to The Mirror.

Zingarevich sacked Brian McDermott as manager last week, with the club second from bottom in the Premier League.

Enrique joins names such as Gus Poyet and Nigel Adkins in being linked with a move to the Madejski Stadium.

Caretaker boss Eamonn Dolan was in charge last weekend as the Royals lost 1-0 at Manchester United.
