How Real Madrid could line up against Barcelona

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up in Saturday's La Liga clash with Barcelona

Real Madrid will be attempting to make it back-to-back La Liga wins over Barcelona when Zinedine Zidane's side travel to Camp Nou for El Clasico on Saturday afternoon.

Los Blancos recorded a 2-0 victory the the two teams last met back in March, but the capital giants - currently third in Spain's top flight - will enter this match off the back of successive defeats.

Indeed, the reigning champions lost 1-0 to Cadiz in the league last weekend before suffering a 3-2 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Madrid could line up this weekend.

Madrid will again be without the services of Eden Hazard, Dani Carvajal and Martin Odegaard this weekend, while Mariano Diaz and Alvaro Odriozola are also unlikely to be available for selection.

Club captain Sergio Ramos was forced off at the interval of the defeat to Cadiz and was not involved against Shakhtar in the Champions League on Wednesday night, but the Spaniard is expected to be back in the XI on Saturday afternoon despite being forced to train away from his teammates on Thursday.

Nacho was not involved against Shakhtar but could come into the side here at right-back, which would see Ferland Mendy move across to the left and Marcelo drop to the bench.

Toni Kroos is also expected to earn a recall in the middle of the park alongside Luka Modric and Casemiro, with Federico Valverde potentially the player to drop out of the starting side.

Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior should also both return to the XI in place of Rodrygo Goes and Luka Jovic, but Marco Asensio could keep his spot on the right ahead of the likes of Isco and Lucas Vazquez.
