Dani Carvajal 'will return in time for World Cup'

Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal is expected to be fit for the World Cup next month, after his injury in the Champions League final forced him off the pitch.

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has been told that he will be fit to play in the World Cup next month.

The four-time Champions League winner was forced off in tears against Liverpool in the final on Saturday night, with doubts over whether the Spaniard would be fit for Russia.

However, Onda Cero claims that Carvajal will only face three weeks on the sidelines and return in time to play for Spain in the group stages.

The report also says that Carvajal had a scan in Madrid accompanied by both club and international doctors, where he heard the positive news.

Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin was expected to step up in absence of the 26-year-old, should the injury be worse than expected.
