Florentino Perez: 'Danilo had other offers'

Danilo turned down the chance to join other clubs by agreeing to move to Real Madrid, according to president Florentino Perez.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has revealed that Danilo rejected a number of offers to join the club.

The right-back agreed a move to the Bernabeu from Porto back in March, but he was only unveiled to supporters and the media this afternoon.

Speaking at the press conference, Perez claimed that Los Blancos had beaten off competition to secure the 23-year-old's services.

"To wear this shirt should be a dream and a desire for our players. To form part of this club is a privilege. We want the best players, those that aspire to make history," he said.

"A man that the best [teams] in Europe wanted to count on arrives [here]. He had, of course, wanted to form part of this team and that's why he's here."

Danilo has cost Madrid a reported £23m.
