Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos says that Cristiano Ronaldo deserves to win the FIFA Ballon d'Or.

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos believes that his teammate Cristiano Ronaldo deserves to win the FIFA Ballon d'Or this evening.

Ronaldo is the favourite to claim the award ahead of fellow finalists Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery.

"If I had my way, I would give it to him. There are a lot of people who think so around the world," the Spain defender told reporters at a press conference.

"The statistics are there to see, and he has broken almost every record out there. Maybe this year he deserves it more than others."

Ronaldo has scored 29 goals in all competitions this season.
