Zinedine Zidane banned from coaching Real Madrid Castilla for three months

Zinedine Zidane is given a three-month ban from coaching Real Madrid Castilla due to not having the right qualifications.

Zinedine Zidane has been banned from coaching Real Madrid Castilla for three months due to not having the right qualifications.

The 42-year-old was handed the punishment by the Football Competition Committee on Monday following a complaint from a representative for Spanish Coaches and the head of the National Centre for Developing Coaches.

Miguel Galan claimed that Zidane should not be coaching the side because he only has a Level 2 qualification. The Frenchman needs a Level 3 certificate to continue in the role.

Santiago Sanchez, who Madrid named as their B team's official coach, has also been hit with the same punishment as Zidane after it was established that Zidane was the real manager.

Zidane and Sanchez have been given the chance to appeal the decision.
