Zinedine Zidane played a key role in helping Real Madrid to secure the signature of Martin Odegaard, according to Guillem Balague.
The 16-year-old completed his move to the Spanish giants earlier this week, after turning down the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.
Spanish football journalist Ballague told Sky Sports News that he is convinced the Norwegian will become a great player.
"He was wanted by a lot of people. Three to four million euros is the cost, and his dream is to make his debut with Real Madrid this season, but he may have to be more realistic," he said.
"He will train with the first team but play in the B division with Zidane. [Real Madrid Castilla coach] Zidane apparently was a key part of convincing him this was the perfect club to come to. He will be a top star."
Odegaard has already been capped three times by his country.
