Luka Modric is reportedly set to reject an offer from Saudi club Al Ahly in order to remain at Real Madrid, with the midfielder hoping to retire at the Bernabeu.

Luka Modric is reportedly expected to reject advances from the Saudi Pro League in order to remain at Real Madrid, despite being offered a huge salary to move to the Middle East.

The 37-year-old was a key part of the Los Blancos side in his 11th season at the club since joining from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012, appearing in 33 La Liga matches.

Having won five Champions League titles and three league crowns with Real, the Croatian is understood to have attracted interest from outside of Europe ahead of this summer's transfer window.

However, according to Marca, Modric wants to remain at Real Madrid and eventually retire at the Bernabeu, meaning he is set to reject the advances of Al Ahly for his services.

The Saudi club are understood to be prepared to hand Modric a £68m-per-year contract - a deal which is worth seven times more than his current one with Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Despite the mouth-watering amount of money being offered to him, the report claims that the midfielder wishes to continue competing at the highest level of football until his retirement.

Modric will be hoping to help Croatia to Nations League glory this week - Zlatko Dalic's men face the Netherlands in the semi-finals of the competition on Wednesday night.
