Experienced defender Pepe is reportedly 'close' to signing a new contract with Real Madrid.
The 33-year-old, who remains a key figure at the Bernabeu, is approaching the final six months of his deal at Real Madrid and will be free to discuss terms with foreign clubs in the January transfer window.
Manchester United were linked with Pepe after it was reported that Los Blancos were only prepared to offer the centre-back a 12-month deal, rather than a two-year extension.
However, according to Marca, talks have progressed over the last couple of days and the Portugal international will soon sign on the dotted line at the Bernabeu.
Pepe, who moved to the Bernabeu from Porto in 2007, has made 324 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid, winning two Champions League titles and two La Liga crowns in the process.
