Chris Coleman urges David Moyes to take Real Sociedad job

Former Real Sociedad boss Chris Coleman urges David Moyes to take the job at his old club if an offer comes his way.

Wales manager Chris Coleman has strongly advised David Moyes to take the reins at Real Sociedad if he is offered the job.

On Wednesday, the Spanish club confirmed that the former Manchester United boss was on their shortlist of candidates to replace the recently-sacked Jagoba Arrasate.

Coleman, who himself spent six months as La Real manager during the 2007-08 campaign, claims that resigning from the club is his biggest regret in management, and urges Moyes to accept the position if an offer comes his way.

"If I was speaking to David I'd say - 'take the job'," Coleman told reporters. "They have incredible fans and the city is absolutely crazy about the club.

"It was a great experience for me and when I look back on my managerial career that is probably my biggest regret - leaving Sociedad.

"It is a great club who were in the Champions League last year and if you are at that level, like Moyesy is, I'd say take it as they can be a force, they really can."

Former West Bromwich Albion boss Pepe Mel is also in the reckoning, Sociedad confirmed.
