David Moyes: 'We were not good enough'

Real Sociedad boss David Moyes admits that his side were well beaten by Villarreal on Sunday.

Real Sociedad boss David Moyes has admitted that his side were short of their best in Sunday's 4-0 defeat at Villarreal.

The Scot was pleased with the opening 20 minutes of the La Liga clash, but has claimed that "serious errors" contributed to their heavy loss at El Madrigal.

"It could have been worse. We committed serious errors, especially in defence. We must recognise that Villarreal were been better than us and deserved to win," he told reporters.

"In the opening 20 minutes of the first half, we were better but it wasn't enough. We knew we were coming to a difficult venue and playing against strong opponents.

"The attitude was fantastic, the players worked hard. My biggest disappointment comes when we had the ball. We didn't keep it for long enough, and we failed to move the ball quickly enough."

The defeat was Sociedad's first since Moyes took charge.
