Report: Claudio Ranieri to succeed Eusebio Di Francesco at Roma

Claudio Ranieri is reportedly in the frame to become Roma's interim boss, just a week on from being sacked by Fulham with the club in the Premier League's bottom three.

Roma have reportedly lined up Claudio Ranieri to take over as their caretaker manager following the sacking of Eusebio Di Francesco.

The Serie A side pulled the trigger after weeks of speculation on the back the back of Wednesday's 3-1 loss to Porto that ended their Champions League run at the first knockout stage.

According to Sky in Italy, Ranieri is the frontrunner to manage Roma for the remaining two months of the season, while Laurent Blanc and Paulo Sousa are other possible options.

Ranieri has only been out of work for a week, having been sacked by Premier League strugglers Fulham with the club in the bottom three and heading for relegation.

A separate report carried by The Sun claims that the 67-year-old has missed out on a £2m payout from Fulham, meanwhile, because the Cottagers were in the bottom three at the time.
