Rudi Garcia: 'I have Roma board backing'

Roma manager Rudi Garcia dismisses reports about his future and reveals that the board are backing him to turn the club's results around.

Roma manager Rudi Garcia has revealed that he has the backing of the Roma board after speculation mounts that he could be sacked in the near future.

The club are currently sixth in Serie A and suffered a shock loss against Belarussian side BATE Borisov in the Champions League in midweek, with many led to believe that another loss could see him fired.

Carlo Ancelotti and Vincenzo Montella have been linked with the club but Garcia is confident that president James Pallotta still has faith in him.

The Frenchman told reporters: "The support of the club is always there, I speak to Pallotta often and the directors are also backing me. We still have big ambitions. We must make the most of the quality within the squad and pursue our objectives.

"The most important thing is what is happening now, and we need to get back on track at Palermo."

Roma return to league action tomorrow as they head to Sicily to take on Palermo at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.
