Roma complete deal for Porto defender Ivan Marcano

Roma complete their second signing of the summer transfer window, bringing in Porto defender Ivan Marcano on a free transfer.

Defender Ivan Marcano has decided to leave Porto to complete a switch to Italian giants Roma.

Marcano has spent the last four seasons with Porto, scoring a total of 14 goals from 157 appearances in all competitions.

However, the 30-year-old's contract expires this summer and the player has opted to take on a new challenge with Roma, who have handed the versatile defender a three-year deal.

Marcano - a former Spain Under-21 international - will feature in Serie A for the first time having previously played his football in Spain, Greece, Russia and Portugal.

Roma have sealed their second new signing in the space of three days, with Ante Coric having joined from Dinamo Zagreb on Monday.
