Dick Advocaat bemoans defensive performance

Russia boss Dick Advocaat bemoans his side's defensive display in their 1-1 draw with Poland.

Russia boss Dick Advocaat criticised his side's defensive performance following their 1-1 draw with Poland on Tuesday.

Russia remain top of Group A at Euro 2012 following the draw, and he admitted that the point was "a good result for us".

"In general, I'd say the draw is a good result for us. Poland played very well tonight, under the risk of losing the chance to win a place in the last eight if they lost," he told reporters.

"Meanwhile, we allowed them to create too many chances in attack. That means we still need to strengthen our defence. We also played well and scored before the break and had many chances in the second half, but we missed them all."

The result means that Russia are now unbeaten in their last 16 games.
