An own goal from Victor Bernardez prevented the San Jose Earthquakes from claiming all three points as they drew 1-1 in their MLS clash against Real Salt Lake.
The visitors pressed early in the match when Sanna Nyassi found space on the edge of the box to line up a strike at goal, but his powerful effort sailed just over the crossbar.
San Jose did take the lead in the 19th minute when Shea Salinas fired a strike at goal which was blocked into the path of Chris Wondolowski, who made no mistake putting the ball into the net.
In the second half, Wondolowski nearly doubled his side's advantage when he collected a cross at the back post from Matias Perez Garcia, but his shot was deflected past the post.
Salt Lake got their equaliser in the 71st minute when Bernardez directed the ball past David Bingham when he tried to clear his lines with Alvaro Saborio bearing down behind him.
The Earthquakes almost retook the lead in stoppage time when JJ Koval rose highest in the penalty area to head Salinas's cross at goal, but his header went just wide of the post.
