Atiba Harris scored a stoppage-time equaliser to rescue a point for the San Jose Earthquakes in their MLS clash against the Colorado Rapids tonight.
The visitors went close early on as Chris Wondolowski let fly from distance with a powerful volley, which forced Joe Nasco into action as he tipped the effort over the bar.
Wondolowski was causing problems for the Rapids and he should have done a lot better when he found space in the box, but the striker could only fire his shot straight at Nasco.
Nasco made another smart stop minutes later when Shea Salinas and Wondolowski combined, and the striker's cross found the boot of Sam Cronin, but the keeper was down at his feet to make an excellent block.
In the second half, Colorado tried to click into gear and Deshorn Brown showed his pace as he burst away from his man, but his shot from outside the box smashed into the sidenetting.
The Rapids took the lead late in the game when Chris Klute raided down the right and picked out the run of Gabriel Torres in the middle, and the striker poked the ball past Jon Busch from close range.
However, the home side were denied all three points when former player Harris pounced on a loose ball in the penalty area in the 94th minute and drilled a powerful shot past Nasco.
