Joachim Low: 'Scotland's defeat to Georgia makes them more dangerous'

Germany manager Joachim Low warns that Scotland are even more dangerous after their defeat in Georgia ahead of his side's match at Hampden Park.

Germany manager Joachim Low has insisted that Scotland's defeat to Georgia will not be of any advantage to his side, warning that it will only make them more dangerous.

Gordon Strachan's side face the world champions at Hampden Park on Monday after a 1-0 loss in Tbilisi on Friday night left them with an uphill struggle to qualify from Group D.

However, Low is expecting Scotland to be even more determined to get a result against his side now that they have slipped to fourth place in the group.

He told reporters: "I don't think that Scotland losing to Georgia will be of any advantage to us, not in the least. That will not do their fighting spirit or passion any damage at all.

"I know that the squad and the coach will be disappointed about that result but if anything it will make them even more dangerous. I think that they will quickly put their Georgia defeat aside and they will want to reboot themselves and their team.

"Whenever they are up against elite opponents, Germany, England or other big-time opposition, they give everything they have got from the first minute to the last. The crowd will get behind their team as one man especially as Scotland are fighting their last chance in many eyes."

After Friday's disappointment Scotland find themselves one point behind Republic of Ireland, who occupy the group's playoff spot, and three points off an automatic qualification place with three matches remaining.
