Andrew Robertson says that Scotland's supporters deserved to feel disappointed by their team's 2-1 defeat to Russia on Friday night.

Andrew Robertson has claimed that Scotland 'became scared' as Russia came from behind to run out 2-1 victors at Hampden Park on Friday night.

Despite taking an early lead, Scotland were defeated by last year's World Cup hosts to leave the Tartan Army off the pace in their Euro 2020 qualification group.

While Scotland are already guaranteed a place in the playoffs through their efforts in the UEFA Nations League, Robertson has taken the opportunity to hit out at the standard of his team's performance in Glasgow.

The Liverpool defender told Sky Sports News: "There's frustration, annoyance, everything that goes along with it. You can feel it from the stands and we've only got ourselves to blame for that, they've got every right. It wasn't good enough.

"First 15 minutes I thought we were good, got the goal and it was as if it scared us, I've never seen anything like that before. That needs to change, If we go into a lead it should be a positive not a negative.

"I'm annoyed with everything. My performance, what the rest of the lads done, all of us except David Marshall really. To have 10 players from the start not really showing up and putting in the performances we can is never going to win you a game of football."

Steve Clarke's men are next in action when they face Belgium on Monday evening.
