Brentford striker Neal Maupay is thought to be of interest to a host of sides, including Sheffield United and Burnley.

Premier League duo Sheffield United and Burnley are said to be among a host of sides battling for the services of Brentford striker Neal Maupay.

The 22-year-old was in scintillating form for the Championship outfit last term, scoring 28 goals in 49 appearances, including 13 in his first 17 league games of the season.

According to the Sheffield Star, the Blades are keen to bring in the Frenchman as they gear up for their first top-flight campaign in 13 years, while Burnley are in need of reinforcements up front after a disappointing season in the attacking department.

Meanwhile, French publication L'Equipe claims that Maupay is also of interest to Spanish side Sevilla, who can offer the player the prospect of Europa League football after a sixth-placed finish in La Liga last term.

Representatives for the forward are thought to have travelled to Andalusia last weekend to discuss a potential deal, which will cost any suitor at least £9m.

Aston Villa had been credited with an interest in a transfer but are since thought to have dropped their interest after concluding a club-record £22m deal for Brazilian striker Wesley Moraes.

Maupay has two years remaining on his current Brentford contract.
