Extent of Morgan Schneiderlin's thigh injury unknown

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman says that the club are yet to discover if Morgan Schneiderlin's thigh injury is "serious".

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has revealed that the club are yet to discover the severity of Morgan Schneiderlin's thigh injury.

The Frenchman was substituted at the half-time interval of the Saints' 3-0 defeat to Manchester City at St Mary's on Sunday.

It has been confirmed that the midfielder will miss tomorrow's trip to face Arsenal, but Koeman is unsure how long his player will be on the sidelines for.

"It's too soon to know whether it's serious," the Daily Echo quotes Koeman as saying. "It's not too soon to say he can't play on Wednesday, but for how long he will be out, I don't know."

The Saints are currently third in the Premier League table after 13 games.
