Southampton boss Nigel Adkins is delighted with his team after their 4-2 win at Coventry City.

Manager Nigel Adkins was delighted after Southampton's 4-2 triumph at Coventry City made it three wins in a week for his side.

The victory at the Ricoh Arena has kept the Saints five points clear at the top of the Championship table after wins against Peterborough United and Middlesbrough.

"I thought in the first half we've totally dominated the game and played some really good football," Adkins told the club's official website.

"Our homework before the game was to pass the ball about well. They're in a diamond and we didn't give them a sniff in the first half, I thought we were really good.

"So all in all I've asked for nine points out of the players this week, and we've gone and got it."

Adkins' side next host Brighton in the league after the international break.
