Morgan Schneiderlin rules out January exit

In-demand Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin rules out the prospect of leaving the club in January, but is less certain about what the summer has in store.

Morgan Schneiderlin has revealed that he does not expect to leave Southampton during the January transfer window.

The France international has long been linked with a switch away from St Mary's, with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur thought to be keen on the 25-year-old.

He is thought to have gone on strike last summer after the Saints blocked a £12m move to White Hart Lane.

When asked by Telefoot if he could leave in the coming weeks, he said: "That I don't know. January is always a delicate month to leave in.

"I will finish my season with Southampton and then see what happens in the future.

"I don't get worried about these things anymore. If this summer I have learned something, you can never think: I am gone, gone for good."

Schneiderlin has established himself as an integral part of Ronald Koeman's side this season, starting 15 Premier League games as Southampton sit fourth in the table.
