Spain boss Vicente del Bosque has offered no suggestion as to which goalkeeper is his current first choice.
Iker Casillas has regained his spot in the Real Madrid team this season, but David de Gea's consistent performances for Manchester United have further increased his stock.
Victor Valdes, who is now a free agent after leaving Barcelona, is currently injured, but the experienced stopper remains in the thoughts of Del Bosque.
"Iker spent a year-and-a-half in an awkward situation," Del Bosque has been quoted by AS.
"It hurts him more to lose the confidence of the Madrid fans than not to play. De Gea is one of our options. We're lucky with his progression and for the future of the national team.
"I think a lot of Victor Valdes. He has been very committed to the national team."
De Gea started Thursday's 1-0 friendly defeat to France.
