Everton boss Sean Dyche confirms that Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains unavailable for Monday's home meeting with Tottenham Hotspur.

Everton boss Sean Dyche has confirmed that Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains sidelined for Monday's Premier League meeting with Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park.

Calvert-Lewin has not featured for Everton since playing 62 minutes in a 1-0 win over Arsenal on February 4, which was Dyche's first game in charge.

The 26-year-old has been limited to just 11 Premier League appearances this season, and his ongoing fitness issues has led to Dyche conducting a comprehensive review of the player's lifestyle in a bid to find a solution to his injury problems.

Prior to the international break, Dyche revealed that Calvert-Lewin had suffered a setback in his recovery after briefly returning to training.

Speaking ahead of Monday's Premier League clash with Spurs, the Everton manager has confirmed that Calvert-Lewin has not participated in team training this week.

"He hasn't trained with the group," Dyche told reporters. "He's back on the grass again and has been making progress, which is good.

"He did have that tiny niggle on the injury, in a slightly different area, but he's making very good progress. So we're happy with that at the moment."

Dyche was also unwilling to place a timescale on Calvert-Lewin's recovery when asked about a possible return date.

"No timescale, I don't do that anyway," Dyche added. "Certainly not when we're trying to get him back to full fitness as I call it. Or as close to."

The Toffees are also without the services of Andros Townsend, who has been sidelined since March 2022 with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Nathan Patterson looks to have recovered from a knee ligament injury, and he could be set to return to the matchday squad after featuring for his country during the international break.

The full-back appeared as a late substitute in Scotland's two victories over Cyprus and Spain in Euro 2024 qualifying.

Prior to the weekend's action, Everton occupy 15th place in the Premier League table, leaving them just two points above the relegation zone.
