Tottenham legend Ossie Ardiles believes that his former club are contenders for the Premier League title as long as Harry Redknapp keeps his team fit.

Former Tottenham Hotspur player Ossie Ardiles believes that Harry Redknapp's side are more than capable of clinching the Premier League title this season.

The North London side are third in the league table and Ardiles is confident that Spurs can push for the title as long as the team stays fit.

"Tottenham are now a very, very good team," Ardiles told talkSPORT. "Spurs are real contenders to get into a Champions League place and possibly maybe do a little bit better.

"Against Sunderland we were not at our best but everyone knew we were going to beat them. Why can't they win the league? The key for us is to not have injuries, if we miss some crucial players then it'll be hard but, if they are fit, then Tottenham have a real chance."

Tottenham go head to head with Chelsea at White Hart Lane tonight.
