Newly-signed Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale claims that La Liga is the best league in the world.

Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale believes that La Liga is the best domestic league in the world.

The 24-year-old Wales international joined the Spanish giants from Tottenham Hotspur on a six-year contract on Sunday.

"I'm very excited to be here," he told Madrid's official website. "I think the Spanish Liga is the best league in the world with the best players playing here and I'm very much looking forward to it and can't wait for it to start."

Madrid reportedly paid Spurs a record transfer fee of £85m for Bale.
