Ronald de Boer: 'Frank de Boer can achieve success with Tottenham Hotspur'

Frank de Boer would be able to achieve success with Tottenham Hotspur, according to his brother, Ronald de Boer.

Frank de Boer has been backed to achieve success by his brother if he is given the opportunity to become Tottenham Hotspur manager this summer.

Current Spurs head coach Tim Sherwood is expected to be relieved of his duties at the end of the current season, despite only being given the job in December, and De Boer is the favourite to be named as his replacement.

According to Ronald de Boer, the Ajax manager would be able to take Spurs forward should he be approached in the near future.

"Frank knows some of the players there, like [Christian] Eriksen and [Jan] Vertonghen - [Nacer] Chadli and [Mousa] Dembele too - there's lots of quality at the club," the former Rangers and Barcelona midfielder told reporters. "I think he can build something.

"It is a nice club with history, one of the nicest clubs in the Premiership.

"The club has ambition and the budget for it."

Sherwood has revealed his disappointment with the recent speculation linking De Boer with his job.
