Report: Tottenham Hotspur deny making official approach to Frank de Boer

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly deny that they have made an official approach to Ajax boss Frank de Boer about becoming Tim Sherwood's replacement.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly rejected claims that they have approached Ajax boss Frank de Boer about the possibility of becoming the new manager at White Hart Lane.

The North London outfit are expected to replace Tim Sherwood at the end of the season following his five-month stint after Andre Villas-Boas's departure.

Yesterday, De Boer revealed that he is open to holding talks with Spurs after the Dutch season comes to a close this weekend.

However, it is believed that Tottenham, who have also been linked with Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal and Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino, have not made an official approach to De Boer, according to The Express.

The 43-year-old guided Ajax to their fourth consecutive Eredivisie title this season.
