Ronald de Boer: 'Louis van Gaal would be successful in Premier League'

Ronald de Boer believes that Louis van Gaal has the tools to be a successful manager in the Premier League.

Ronald de Boer has backed Louis van Gaal to be successful should he take charge of a Premier League side next season.

Van Gaal, who will step down from his role with the Netherlands after the World Cup, has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, while recent reports have suggested that he would be in the frame should Manchester United decide to part company with David Moyes.

Former Rangers midfielder De Boer believes that the 62-year-old would achieve success in England after working with him closely at Ajax and Barcelona.

"He is one of the best coaches in the world and can really prepare a team," De Boer told reporters. "He can find weakness in any opponent and present them with solid opposition as he analyses the game really well.

"He has so much quality he would be successful in England, especially if he is given time to set out his team."

Van Gaal has won seven domestic league titles during his managerial career.
