Harry Kane has set a new Premier League goalscoring record today, becoming the first player to score in 25 separate matches during a 38-game season.
Kane's goal against Brentford earlier this afternoon saw the Tottenham Hotspur striker beat the previous record held by Mohamed Salah, who netted in 24 different matches during the 2017-18 season.
A long-range free kick brought up goal number 28 for Kane this season, his second-best scoring season in his career.
It also marked a fourth consecutive match in which he has found the net, but three of those still ended in defeat for Spurs, including their encounter with Brentford today.
Despite Kane's impressive scoring season, he is still set to miss out on the Premier League Golden Boot to Erling Braut Haaland. who is on 36 league goals for newly-crowned champions Manchester City.
Two goals on the final day against Leeds United will see Kane match his tally of 30 which he managed in the 2017-18 season, as Spurs will hope to finish their season by potentially claiming European qualification.
