Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Glenn Hoddle has claimed that the team needs a "special player" to kickstart their season.
Spurs are currently languishing in 10th place in the Premier League table after losing six of their opening 15 games of the campaign.
While he insists that there are plenty of good players at White Hart Lane, Hoddle believes that Mauricio Pochettino needs to add to his squad in forward areas during the January transfer window.
"It is very difficult nowadays," he told Sky Sports News. "There is a lack of world-class strikers and midfield players which control the game, express themselves and that is what I think they miss. They have some good players but they don't have a special player."
Tottenham are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Besiktas in the Europa League.
