Jan Vertonghen: 'Tottenham Hotspur future looks bright'

Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen believes that "things are looking very good" for his side after recording three wins on the bounce in all competitions.

Jan Vertonghen has insisted that Tottenham Hotspur supporters have plenty to be cheerful about when looking ahead to the future.

The Lilywhites earned a slender 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon to climb back into the top half of the Premier League table.

That triumph at White Hart Lane makes it three victories on the bounce for Spurs in all competitions, and Vertonghen is pleased by the way his side have transformed their fortunes in recent weeks.

"We looked very solid for 90 minutes," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. "We played well at the start of the season but we weren't that focused at the end of the games.

"But things are looking very good. We have great young players and a good mix, so there are great things for the team if we can keep working like this. It looks very good for the future."

Tottenham take on North London rivals Arsenal in the third round of the League Cup on Wednesday night.
