Harry Kane reflects on the "best week of my life"

Harry Kane says that captaining Spurs in the 0-0 draw at Burnley capped off what has been the best week of his life.

Harry Kane has said that Tottenham Hotspur's 0-0 draw with Burnley this afternoon did little to tarnish what has been the best week of his life.

The 21-year-old enhanced his burgeoning reputation last week by marking his England debut with a goal in the 4-0 win over Lithuania.

Although he failed to add to his 29-goal haul this season at Turf Moor, Kane was handed the captain's armband in the absence of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

At 21 years and 251 days, he is the youngest player to skipper a Premier League side this season, and despite the result, the Spurs hitman says that today bookended a memorable week.

"Yes you could say it has been the best week of my life - to score, to make my first start and score for England, and to be captain today," he told Sky Sports News.

"It has been an unbelievable couple of weeks and one I won't forget for the rest of my career."

Had he scored today, Kane would have become the first Spurs player to reach the 30-goal mark since Gary Lineker.
