Tottenham Hotspur's Hugo Lloris backs Remi Garde to impress at Aston Villa

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris backs Remi Garde to succeed at Aston Villa.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has predicted that Remi Garde will be a success at Aston Villa.

The former Lyon boss was appointed as Tim Sherwood's successor on Monday.

The Midlands outfit have had a poor season, losing nine of their 11 Premier League games, which has placed them at the bottom of the table.

Lloris, though, believes that Garde will turn their fortunes around.

"He is a great man and a great manager," the Daily Star quotes Lloris as saying. "I know him very well and it's only positive about him. Tactically he's going to bring his knowledge and he has proper experience as a player with Arsenal.

"I think he really wanted to join the Premier League and I think Aston Villa is a big club and a big opportunity for him. I'm sure he will show how he's able to do."

Garde's first game will be against Manchester City at home this Sunday.
