Scott Parker is reportedly handed the captain's armband from Stuart Pearce for England's friendly against the Netherlands tonight.

England interim coach Stuart Pearce has reportedly chosen Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Scott Parker to lead out the Three Lions at Wembley tonight.

There has been constant speculation over who the England Under-21s manager would choose to take the skipper's armband, with Liverpool playmaker Steven Gerrard being the firm favourite to take the role.

Reports have suggested that Parker, who has ten international caps to his name, will captain England against the Netherlands in the international friendly tonight, according to Sky Sports News.

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart and teammate James Milner were also touted as possible captains.
