Mauricio Pochettino irked by Joe Hart heroics

Mauricio Pochettino says that goalkeeper Joe Hart proved the difference for Manchester City in their 1-0 win away to Tottenham Hotspur.

Mauricio Pochettino has said that Manchester City have goalkeeper Joe Hart to thank for his heroics in Sunday's 1-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur.

Sergio Aguero's first-half opener was enough as City consolidated their grip on second place on a day that saw Chelsea strip them of their Premier League title.

Hart pulled off a string of impressive saves to frustrate Spurs, who remain seven points adrift of the top four, and Pochettino says that the result might have been different on another day.

"Joe Hart was brilliant. He was the man of the match, and the difference between the teams," he told BBC Sport.

"We had a chance to score from a corner, and there was a good counter-attack from City and finish from Aguero. Our mentality is to attack the opposing goals. I think we were a little unlucky.

"Aguero is a brilliant player. The chance that he had, he scored. But we are disappointed."

Spurs travel away to Stoke City next weekend.
