Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino wants Vincent Janssen to stop putting himself under pressure, and believes that the Dutchman will soon start scoring regularly.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has backed Vincent Janssen to come good and start scoring goals regularly.

Since joining Spurs from AZ Alkmaar for £17m, the 22-year-old has scored just one goal in 12 appearances, a penalty in a 5-0 EFL Cup win over Gillingham.

"It is true we and he would be happier if he was scoring, but it's a normal process," Pochettino, speaking about the summer signing, told reporters.

"He wants to show he has the quality to score and maybe he puts a lot of pressure on himself.

"He is not frustrated, he is disappointed. He's come from Holland and always those players from outside need time. He only needs time."

Janssen scored 27 goals in the Eredivisie last season.
