Mauricio Pochettino: 'Hugo Lloris will play against West Ham United'

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino says that Hugo Lloris told him that he is fine to start against West Ham United in the aftermath of the Paris attacks.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Hugo Lloris will be named in his starting lineup for the club's match against West Ham United.

Lloris, along with his France teammates, was in the vicinity of the area in Paris that was attacked by terrorists last week, which resulted in the deaths of 129 people.

France entered a state of mourning, but their friendly match against England went ahead as planned as Lloris led his side out at Wembley.

Despite his tumultuous week, Pochettino has said that his keeper approached him on his return to Spurs and told him that he was playing at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

"I didn't need to ask because when he saw me, he said 'I want to play'," Pochettino told reporters.

"It was very difficult for him and for all of the French players and the English players too. They were here training on Monday in the morning and you could feel that they were very sad to play.

"For Hugo it was a very tough two weeks. When you are captain it is a big responsibility. But he is strong, has a good mind with an unbelievable character. He's ready to play Sunday and wants to play for the people."

Tottenham face West Ham in their Premier League clash on Sunday.
