Harry Redknapp has warned Gareth Bale that he can expext some tough challenges when Tottenham take on Everton tonight.

Bale will face off on the wing against Phil Neville, who made some big tackles on the Welshman when the teams clashed last season.

"I am sure Phil Neville will give Gareth a dig or two on Wednesday. That is part of what you expect," Redknapp said.

"No player played Bale better than Neville last season. I even tried to bring Neville to White Hart Lane but we couldn't make the transfer work.

"The problem for defenders is that Bale is just so quick running with the ball."

Four Cheltenham players picked up yellow cards for challenges on Bale during Saturday's FA Cup match, and Bale is one of the most-fouled players in the Premier League.

"Against Cheltenham, three of the yellow cards given for fouls against him were for mis-timed rather than malicious tackles," Redknapp said.

"Although the last caution was cynical when Gareth was brought down from behind."

Spurs will move level on points with second-placed Manchester United if they beat Everton tonight.
