Tim Sherwood: 'Tottenham Hotspur will attack Manchester City'

Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood says that attack is the best form of defence in combating Manchester City's offensive qualities ahead of tomorrow's clash.

Tim Sherwood believes that attack will be the best form of defence for Tottenham Hotspur during tomorrow's clash with Manchester City.

Spurs host Manuel Pellegrini's men at White Hart Lane on Wednesday keen to avenge the 6-0 defeat inflicted on them earlier in the season during Andre Villas-Boas's tenure as manager.

The Citizens have struck 63 league goals this term - 104 in all competitions, but the Spurs boss believes that matching fire with fire is the best way to combat City's attacking qualities.

He told reporters: "We can't worry about them, we have to be responsible to make sure we're concentrated and defend very well at all times.

"If you don't stem the flow, they can be home and dry very quickly. We can't afford a capitulation like we saw at the Etihad.

"Their biggest strength, Man City, is when they attack. So let's hope that we can try and make them defend as much as possible."

Kickoff in North London is scheduled for 7:45pm.
