Gareth Southgate has reportedly decided to include Dele Alli in his England squad for next month's World Cup qualifiers, even if he is unable to play in one or both matches.
The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is waiting to hear the result of a FIFA disciplinary hearing that started on Wednesday and should conclude on Thursday.
Alli aimed a middle-fingered gesture towards another individual in England's 2-1 win over Slovakia earlier this month, but insists that it was directed at teammate Kyle Walker, not an opponent or the referee.
FIFA procedures usually mean that the result of any disciplinary action is published a few days after the hearing, but according to Sky Sports News, the FA has made special representations to FIFA, requesting for the governing body to publish the verdict on Alli sooner.
Southgate will name his squad on Thursday lunchtime for the qualifiers against Slovenia and Lithuania.
