DeAndre Yedlin is not quite ready to deputise for Kyle Walker in the Tottenham Hotspur first team, Under-21 manager Ugo Ehiogu has suggested.
Spurs are waiting to learn the results of a scan on a foot injury that Walker picked up during the 0-0 Premier League draw with Burnley on Sunday.
Yedlin, yet to make his debut for Spurs after joining from MLS outfit the Seattle Sounders in January, has been tipped to fill in against Aston Villa this weekend.
Former Middlesbrough and Aston Villa defender Ehiogu is impressed with what he has seen from the American international, but believes that a spate of injuries since his arrival have prevented him from being in first-team contention.
He told talkSPORT: "He's very good defensively and he's still adjusting and getting game time. He's had a bit of a stop-start period because of injuries."
Tottenham sold Walker's former understudy Kyle Naughton to Swansea City in January, so Romanian defender Vlad Chiriches is in line to play at right-back against Villa.
