Lewis Holtby: Fulham must be "mentally strong"

On-loan Fulham midfielder Lewis Holtby calls for the side to be "mentally strong" as they look to escape the relegation zone.

Fulham midfielder Lewis Holtby has called on the squad to be "mentally strong" in an attempt to climb out of the relegation zone.

The Cottagers are currently bottom of the Premier League, and the on-loan Spurs schemer has challenged the Cottagers to rise out of their slump.

The Express quotes the German as saying: "The belief is always there. We have to be mentally strong and that is the key to getting out of the drop zone.

"There is enough. We have got the quality to stay up but we need to get some points. We need to be solid at the back because we are conceding too many goals and that is a problem.

"We conceded two in the last game [against Manchester United], three [against Liverpool], and that is too many."

Rene Meulensteen's side were beaten 3-2 by Liverpool on Wednesday evening.
