Andre Villas-Boas's reign as Tottenham Hotspur manager has got off to a winning start after his side saw off Stevenage 2-0 at the Lamex Stadium.

After a goalless first half the visitors took the lead on 56 minutes through debutant Gylfi Sigurdsson.

It was 2-0 with four minutes to play as Iago Falque struck following a quick counter attack.

Spurs continue their pre-season preparations with a match against Liverpool in Baltimore on Saturday, July 28 before they start their Premier League campaign at Newcastle United next month.
