Barcelona fail with Alen Halilovic bid

Dinamo Zagreb vice-president Zdravko Mamic reveals that the club rejected a January bid from Barcelona for Alen Halilovic.

Dinamo Zagreb vice-president Zdravko Mamic has revealed that the club rejected a bid from Barcelona for teenage midfielder Alen Halilovic last month.

The 17-year-old, who has been capped three times by Croatia at senior international level, had been linked with a January move to Tottenham Hotspur.

However, it was Barca who made their interest official and, although the Catalan side's offer was rebuffed, Mamic expects the La Liga champions to return with a second bid.

"We have received an offer from Barcelona for Halilovic, but it was not accepted because we, the player and his family were not entirely satisfied with the terms," Mamic told Sportski.

"The story does not stop there. Barcelona still want the transfer to happen so we will see how everything will continue.

"We would like to see Halilovic at our club for at least three years."

Halilovic is the second-youngest player to ever feature in the Champions League.
