Fenerbahce: 'We are not looking to sign Tottenham Hotspur's Moussa Sissoko'

Turkish giants Fenerbahce deny that they are looking to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko before the end of the summer transfer window.

Fenerbahce have denied suggestions that they are looking to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko.

The France international has not made an appearance for Spurs since the opening day of the season, and the 29-year-old was not involved in the squad for the 3-0 win over Manchester United on Monday night.

Fenerbahce has been heavily linked with a move for the player, but the Turkish giants have taken steps to end any speculation regarding their activity in the transfer market.

In a statement, Fenerbahce said: "In the public opinion, the news that we are attempting to transfer Moussa Sissoko...does not reflect the truth.

"Regarding a transfer of Moussa Sissoko to our club, there has been no contact with the player, the manager or the club."

Sissoko still has just under three years remaining on his contract with the North London outfit.
