John Bostock expresses his determination to prove any doubters wrong over the next few years.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder John Bostock has insisted that he is not just a professional footballer to earn good money.

Once labelled as one of England's brightest young talents when he joined Spurs from Crystal Palace back in 2008, Bostock's career has stalled over recent years and he is currently on loan with MLS side Toronto FC.

With his contract at White Hart Lane due to expire in the summer, the 21-year-old has revealed that he is determined to prove his ability, for whoever he joins next.

"All I want to do is play. First-team football is everything," he told The Mirror. "I know some people might think I am one of those players who is in the cash comfort zone and drifting.

"But that is not me. My contract at Tottenham is up in June and that is when my loan spell is over. We will have to look at things again then.

"My hope is that I will improve by playing here in Canada. I am only 21. There is still time for me to achieve what I want."

Bostock has made four appearances for Spurs.
