Tottenham Hotspur announce that South Korean attacker Son Heung-min has signed a new four-year contract with the North London club.

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that attacker Son Heung-min has penned a new four-year deal with the club.

The former Bayer Leverkusen man formed a deadly double act with talisman Harry Kane in the 2020-21 season, ending that Premier League campaign with 17 goals and 10 assists from 37 matches.

Talks over a new deal for Son are believed to have been going on since Jose Mourinho was in control of the reins, and Spurs announced on Friday that the South Korean forward has committed his future to the club until 2025.

Speaking to the official Tottenham website, Son said: "It was already a big honour to play here for six years, the Club have showed me massive, massive respect and obviously I'm very happy to be here."

"It's like home, especially with the fans, the players, the staff. There was no decision. It was easy. I'm so happy to be here and will be so glad to see the fans again soon.

Managing director Fabio Paratici added: "We are pleased to have agreed a new long-term contract with Heung-Min Son as we move towards the start of a new season and a new chapter for the Club with Nuno Espirito Santo.

"Everyone can see the real positive impact he has on the Club, both on and off the field, and we are delighted that he will play a part in what we are trying to achieve in the coming years."

Son has turned out 280 times across all competitions for Spurs since arriving in 2015, chalking up 107 goals and 64 assists in that time.
